"Arctic No-Chill"

Films: Rage of the Yeti (2011)

Alias: None

Type: Natural

Location: Tundra/Mountains

Height/Weight: Twicehat of an average gorilla.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Okay, so the Yeti doesn't have to appear solely in the Asian mountains. At least this place is a lot more snowy and befitting of such mysterious predators. And who would have guessed? The isolation means that they look more monstrous than the accounts believed. A shame they came a bit on the cheap side.

History: Somewhere in the Arctic wastes, there is a land known as Mercy Island. The area is covered in ice for most of the year, but every now and then, it yields great treasure. And sure enough, everyone wants a piece of that pie. But alas, not only does greed get in the way of any actual progress. There is also a clan of savage Yetis living in the area. So in short, everyone is doomed to be food.

Notable Kills: One manages to strike a guy off a snowmobile.

Final Fate: By the end of it all, many of the Yetis are killed. One gets a shotgun to the face while another gets a hole burned through its chest via a blowtorch. Either way, no side of the fight is walking out of with without any serious regrets.

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-Dear Lord, this is what happens when you don't have the exact budget to realize your cool monsters. These are some of the most demonic-looking Yetis around, and yet they are almost completely undone by CGI that's cheap even by Syfy standards. Also, they tend to go down rather easily if one has a good weapon.

Trivia: -There are cryptids that live in the Arctic areas, but just about all of them are sea creatures with incredibly vague forms.

-The ship containing the treasure in this film, the HMS Victoria, was named after the fiancé of one of the writers. That's cute, but could you have given her name to something other than a derelict piece of nonfunctioning water transportation? Maybe a mountain or something?
